External Eye Conditions

The external eye or the outer eye is used to describe the part of the eyes that you can see.

Many external eye conditions are quite obvious to see, many can be symptomatic and include conditions like conjunctivitis, blepharitis, red eyes, lumps, bumps, cysts, and dry eyes to name a few.

The optometrist can investigate the external eye using an optical microscope known as the slit lamp.
